The yellow orchid is still going strong, I find trying to get the bright yellow a bit difficult and is seems best under the flash at dark. The underlying green always wants to pull through..but this one glistens..very unusual flowers orchids..Thank you to all for your awesome comments on the vet...Love the works of art.
• Just upriver from the shot of the kayaker, this quiet bend meanders slowly by. The cool green looks really refreshing and cool, doesn't it? Love the color on this.
Thank you for the great comments on the kayaker!
 • Shooting the rapids on the Upper Clackamas River. One way to keep cool on a warm summer's day..although the air was 85 the water is snowmelt from Mt Hood and is still around 55 or so..
 • Beautiful glowing Queen Anne's Lace or Daucus Carota glows in the midday sun with the Upper Clackamas River in the background.
Running like crazy today...late posting..but I like the simplicity of this pic

 • This Chevy Corvette Stingray was the prototype for the loved "vette" of today. This is really a beautiful car..Part of the Allure of the automobile it can be seen at the Portland Art Museum..
 • John Day Park out in eastern Oregon just before Picture Canyon on a beautiful day...As the sun was setting the shadows were heavy in the b&w version you can concentrate on the shapes and the sky.
 • A simple sand dollar on the beach against the texture of the sand. Have a lovely day!
 • First thanks to all of you for your lovely comments on the swayback barn...they are great subjects with a lot of character!
This one is a bit different. we stopped by one of our fav restaurants for Sunday b'fast...they have a glass door that is angled, As we waited for our table I noticed that the lights inside the restaurant were projected out into the street...so although all I had was my Iphone I took this pic...
it was kind of funny as the man outside thought I was trying to take his pic and put the camera down when he was looking at me..felt a little awkward..but we all have those days...
 • Oregon seems to have a plethora of ancient barns that seem to be in a state of perpetual collapse. Here's one out in eastern Oregon that is a bit swayback. How many more winters until it's a pile of wood?
 • This is Margo the African Hedgehog from the Oregon Zoo...She and her sister put in a personal appearance at Zoolala on Saturday night..She was quite determined to get out of her box and escape but her human kept her in check..What would a hedgehog do in Portland anyway? They are about 6 inches long with short quills that feel like nylon..Smile Margo!
Thank you all for the great comments...keeps me thinking about new challenges...
 • Found this rock on the beach, the motion from the waves has it creating it's own hole. Today Oregon is soggy, but we're keeping everything green! Going to Zoolala tonight hope to get some good pics, just never know...
 • Drove down to Silverton the other day and went for a bit of a hike at Silver Falls State Park, they have 10 waterfalls on the trail there...about 50 miles South east of Portland. This is the top of South Falls where there is a trail that goes behind the waterfall..so you can see the back side of water.. I took this with a 1/2 sec exposure, I think it looks like a painting almost...Thank you for your comments..You guys are great! Happy Friday everyone!
Silver Falls State Park is a state park in the U.S. state of Oregon, located near Silverton, about 20 miles (32 km) east-southeast of Salem. It is the largest state park in Oregon with an area of more than 9,000 acres (36 km2), and it includes more than 24 miles (39 km) of walking trails, 14 miles (23 km) of horse trails, and a 4-mile (6.4 km) bike path. Its 8.7-mile (14.0 km) Canyon Trail/Trail of Ten Falls runs along the banks of Silver Creek and by ten waterfalls, from which the park received its name. Four of the ten falls have an amphitheater-like surrounding that allows the trail to pass behind the flow of the falls.[2] The Silver Falls State Park Concession Building Area and the Silver Creek Youth Camp-Silver Falls State Park are separately listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

The park's most visited waterfall is South Falls, a 177-foot (54 m) cascade.[3] Remote Double Falls, however, is listed as the highest waterfall in the park, plunging 178 feet (54 m) in a small tributary side canyon deep within the Silver Creek Canyon.
 • Here's a picture out in eastern Oregon near Picture Canyon in the John Day area. Eastern Oregon is such a contrast to the western wet side of the Cascades. The stark beauty and views are amazing. It does get pretty hot so spring and fall are the best times for roaming around and hiking.
 • Somedays the light's just right, the color is beautiful and we happen to be there with a camera ready to go...
This close up of a poppy from Canon Beach seems electrified with the sun shining through it's petals. The purple blue inside is a crazy color don't you think...Best seen large
Canon Beach is fairly warm for the Oregon coast so they have many types of beautiful flowers growing up close to the little shops. Makes a beautiful town!
 • Sunset at Canon Beach near Haystack Rocks. It really was such a beautiful day at the Oregon coast for the in laws...today we're getting a little rain but that always keeps Oregon green...sometimes it's hard for a So Cal girl to appreciate but I do love walking in the verdant green forest near all the rivers here...
Enjoy and thank you so much for the comments yesterday. This forum keeps me growing and learning!
 • Where'd they go? Or is it Separate paths?
It's summer, it's Monday, getting lost at the beach in the sun surrounded by warm water sounds pretty good to me!
That's it we're outta here! Love the way the sun glits on the sand.
Have a great week!
 • Horses at the beach in Canon Beach Oregon on a perfectly splendid day. Yes it rains here a great deal, but when the sun comes out it is incredible. One of my favorite things is horses on the beach!
Thank you all for the wonderful comments on the car photos! If you love cars I have put more on
• A little birdie told me so..
After a brief shower this little crowned sparrow was preening on the rose post..I like the green grass blur behind him..Hope everyone had an amazing 4th..heading out to Silverton for breakfast..last full day of company...
 • Red white and blue waffle! Here's to a happy and fun 4th!
Happy fireworks everyone..
 • flowers at the beach
It was so beautiful down in Cannon Beach on Saturday..The sky was blue as was the water..Kites, horses, seagulls, and many people were all out enjoying the day..
